What are the sources of inspiration for the many films you’ve made?
I just observe! I observe around me. Most of m films are stories which are up to 90% invented. I start from an idea, I look for the reasons (that’s to say the reasons for such an idea) and then I imagine the story. This is the case of the film titled "la carte d'identité". (a story about a lady looking for her child’s birth certificate).

Do you receive scripts by other people for films?
No, for the time being even if many people are asking for it. This can result in problems of copyrights or be a reason for blackmailing.

 Which problems are facing a Burkinabe film maker today?
The problem is funding opportunities. In most cases, the film makers are their own producers and they manage to produce their films.

Does the government of Burkina Faso contribute a little?
Rarely!

The pays for the actors seem also to be a scaring source of problems and misleading for some film producers who resort to less talented actors.
You can make inquiries with my actors; no one can complain about bad treatment. For the selection of the actors for the film "commissariat de Tampy ", for example, I made an announcement on TV, then I organised my casting which nearly lasted from 8 am to 10 pm with the view to finding the best actor.

  It seems that the artists are fighting for a status. Is it really important when it’s known that everyone (the film makers or actors) is taking the lion’s share?
It’s necessary to be organised. The actors must be organised. To decide to create a well-known artists’ organisation that’s made official and registers its members at the National Security Funds. One must pay for a retirement pension. So the artists can hope for a retirement pension. The State grants a retirement pension to the workers only.
