	Samirama : artist

	Samirama Her true name: Ramatou Goumbane; a name composed of two words: “Samira” and “Ramatou” (We will come back to it in her interview) I am in the field since 1985. So far, I have recorded 4 albums. The last one is a Maxi entitled “Y croire”/ “Believe in it” To my fans, I say thank you for your support. Thanks for trusting in me, because we do not always have the chance to meet all these beautiful people who love us and what we are doing. Beforehand, I wish the artist would be internationally known. We lack promotion on international plane. It is good to go a little bit out of Burkina because the going out are often rich of instructions.

In this connection, I urge my fellow countrymen living abroad to invest in the organization of shows in their host countries. Do you know why? If our brothers organize shows abroad, we will have the chance of being invited and therefore of being known outside. If Malian and Senegalese music have made a name for themselves out the borders and are well known in Europe, it is partly thanks to their citizens. The latter are deeply involved in the organization of shows and whenever the opportunity rises, they invite the musicians of their countries. If I take the example of my tour in Italy, I did it on my fellow Burkina brothers’ invitation. Otherwise, how would it have been possible as I do not know many people over there? I think things begin to come and certainly, by five years now all would go right.

Note: Samirama, is also the initiator of many charitable activities which deserve to be encouraged and supported.
